For some, finding the perfect path in life can be as easy as taking a trip to the beach. Ryan Hervé knew instantly watching surfers at the age of nine, that this was what he would do with his life. A decision that has served him well as he is now the the owner of an established surfboard business that supplies Jersey, the UK and Europe. Once a surfing mecca, Jersey is now reclaiming some of its former glory as the sport grows in popularity and the community searches for new waters and the next great ride. For the dreamers amongst us, its comforting to know that maybe there really is something in the water.

As someone with an aversion to sea swimming, “30 Bays in 30 Days” would be the title of my perfect horror movie. Thankfully, as I remind myself that Jersey waters are not shark infested and actually one of the most beautiful parts of our Island, I now try to overcome this fear and make an effort to dip my toe in at every possible occasion. So what better way to face the waters (and to model some of Jersey’s latest lines of swimwear) than a charity fundraising initiative with the support of the local community!

Suspended from the ceiling gripping children's building blocks and sandwiched between Wonder-woman and Rudolph the red nosed reindeer wasn't quite what I had in mind when I signed up for Ninja Warrior. Admittedly I hadn't followed the tv series fastidiously, but when I turned up for the auditions I did pause for thought to consider if perhaps this was an elaborate hoax and waited anxiously for Ant and Dec to appear dramatically from behind a corner. For someone who should be a master at stealth, the room was filled with those that appeared rather at odds to what the concept of Ninja was.
