Seeing Stars

Every girl has that one thing in her wardrobe that she buys over and over again, irrespective as to whether it is trending or not. For some it's the never-goes-out-of-style Little Black Dress, or I recently read an article about a girl that couldn't resist the lure of breton striped tops. For me it's stars

This is why seeing the new Max Mara campaign sent shivers down my spine with its stratospheric prints and monochromatic styling. I can't wait to see how this collection translates out in the real world.

Here is a trip down memory lane to celebrate some of my favourite "star" moments:

The queen of all that is cool and elegant, DVF celebrated 40 years of the wrap dress with this dazzling chiffon number, coveted by the likes of Jamie Cheung and Brie Larson. I tried to get my hands on it, but it was not to be!

Unapologetically American, Tommy Hilfiger's collections invariably include stars and stripes in some description. This fur coat from his Spring Sumer 2015 collection was Hilfiger at his best.

Chanel's Spring Summer 2008 collection also came over all stars and stripes on us, with billowy jumpsuits awash with stars and layer upon layer of chiffon.  It was a much more elegant take on the theme than Hilfiger and was epitomised perfectly by Kate Moss on her 34th birthday.

Accented by Bowie-esque star make up gave it extra sparkle!

Bringing us bang up to date, Mara Hoffman makes stars look heavenly in a pastel summer maxi dress from her Spring Summer 2016 collection.

Is there a trend that makes you tremble or a print that gives you palpitations? I'd love to hear all about what makes you go starry-eyed!!
